' How to get back together' vs. 'How to get over an ex'
Where ever we go we see love. Sometimes it seems that the only problem in this world is love. Whenever you turn on the TV you will see a show about love. It seems to be especially true in North America. Oprah will be pushing another romantic novel and on the next channel some guy with super powers will be flying off with his gorgeous girlfriend. We see the same trend on Amazon. The romantic section is probably one of the biggest ones and titles like how to get your ex back are readily available. Entertainment publications, talk about about celebrities. They publish information about celebrity breakups and cheating.
It's so evident that it's not even worth mentioning. We are clearly preoccupied by romance.
Please don't think I'm against it. On the contrary I'm all for love and think people should talk about it more, but in a slightly different form. Especially in countries like Canada and Russia. Their population is declining. In many of those countries people think more about their work and how they will succeed in life. While in reality success is often a matter of having a good family. Pure things such as love are replaced by values such as greed. Don't get me wrong, 'romantic' shows still get a lot of air time there too. Too bad that many of these shows display romance in a negative light. They show cheating adventures of a husband as if it was the norm. Why not show a faithful husband that comes home to spend time with his kids. Same goes for books that give you the latest advice on how to dump someone or how to get over being dumped. Titles that talk about how to get your ex boyfriend back are rare and far between. Books that make you fight for your love and not give up should be more prevalent. When was the last time you saw a best seller like that?
In some states there are a divorce rates of 40%. When will it end? Those are mind blowing statistics! It is almost as if people give up too easily on their current relationships. I think that almost all problems have a solution. If the wife is cheating it does not mean the husband needs to breakup right away. There must be a reason for this infidelity. Is it something that husband did not do? May be this was caused by a miscommunication between husband and wife. In many instances it is a small difference that makes a big change. It's been said that the top reason why wives go to look elsewhere is the lack of recognition.
Therefore it becomes clear that we should value our partner. Try to be more selfless and your partner will do the same. Let us try to listen and understand. Let's choose love instead of hate. Because in the end of the day love always prevails.
