How To Find The Best Flip Flops

by Andrea Dilea

Along with casual style clothes, Hollister also offers complementary accessories. No adolescent's summer would be complete without a dependable and stylish pair of flip flops to wear to the beach and hanging out with friends. Guys and girls flip flops in both rubber and leather are available at Hollister. You can get a pair of rubber flip flops for roughly $15; leather flip flops will cost you about $30.

Finding the right pair of flip flops can be tricky business. Some people even think that it can be an art form in and of itself. It's easy to get distracted on the style, which of course is important, but you want a pair that's going to fit right and be comfortable, first and foremost. A good rule of thumb to remember is that if you can see at least an inch of sole out from your foot, then they are not too small. You want the flip flop to be a bit longer than your foot - but not too much. Because as you walk, you do not wan't your heels or toes to scrape up against the ground.

Some flip flops might not be very comfortable, and may irritate your skin, if they rub the top portion of your feet. Also, notice the kind of strap that the flip flop has. Generally, straps that are made out of rubber have a more snug fit, and are comfortable, when compared to cloth and leather. But cloth and leather can fit well if they are the right ones for your feet.

There are two types of flip-flops; one with a strap that spans across your foot and another with a strap that fits between your toes. With the pair of flip flops with the toe strap, also known as a thong flip flop, you may want to make sure it doesn't injure either of your toes.

If your foot sticks out over the edge of the flip flop, don't purchase that pair. It's important to find flip flops that fit properly, to avoid tripping while you walk. One good walking strategy is to aim your feet straight ahead of you while you move, instead of tilting them toward or away from each other. Finally, if you have flip flops that fit properly, you won't need to slide or scoot along like you're on ice skates.

Remember to wear flip flops for fun and casual times but not all the time. Flip flops do not support your feet and should never be worn if you have a lot of walking to do. Excessive walking while wearing flip flops can lead to sensitive blisters and sore arches.
